Ephemeral Architecture: an international festival of site specific pop-up installations

“Efímera” is a conscious pop-up architecture festival that brought together international artists and architecture students in the city of Córdoba, Spain, creating site-specific installations dedicated to local culture and tradition, while respecting and harmonising with its nature.

“Sacred Blooming” is the installation in which the artist Sofia Candeo, known as Art SyamHope takes part as the team leader, together with architecture students Azra Kaya and Carlo de Paoli, in the courtyard of the Museum of Fine Arts and Julio Romero de Torres in Córdoba, Spain.
In this installation, the powerful message of resilience encourages visitors to overcome tragic moments through a geometry that references the local sacred culture and tradition, as well as the material used for the petals (the thermal blanket). Furthermore, the work interacts with the courtyard through light, shadows and the reflections of water upon the petals. If you come to visit it, you will also find a game and a mathematical challenge designed to explore the proportions and equations of the city.
“Efímera” 2026 edition presents a total of five installations involving international students and artists at some of the city's key and most representative locations in Córdoba, thanks to the collaboration of:

The “Adult Childhood” collection represents a series of paintings developed through a creative process of revaluing artistic materials. The true value of these masterpieces lies above all in their history and emotions, a tribute to the act of growing up, which—through our passions—allows us to relive childhood. It is an inner journey that calls for speaking about emotions, giving them space to emerge, play, dream, and allow ourselves to be happy.
